3. | ![]() ![]() Notes: Thelma Ruth Kessinger was born July 13, 1911, 25 miles southwest of Akron, Colo and departed this life May 12, 1942 aged 30 years, 10 months, and one day in their home northwest of Akron. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, Cecil Earling Kesinger, two children, Cecylle Evelynn, age 19, and LaVerne Allen, age 6; her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Perl Barnhouse, and two brothers, Robert and Omar, besides a number of relatives and friends. She spent most of her 30 years in and around Akron. She became a Christian in the spring of 1938 and on November 1939 joined the Pentacostal Assembly of God Church in Akro. She was a faithful member until the time of her death. She successfully fulfilled her duties as Christ Ambassador president, Sunday School teacher, and had charge of the shut in's for the past two and a half years. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed in the home church she helped to build, and leaves behind a host of relatives and friends. Notes: Obituary - The Akron News - Thursday, July 2, 1925 "As a result of boyish courage and recklessness, George Howard Barnhouse, the 13 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Perl Barnhouse, was placed tenderly in his last resting place Tuesday in the Akron Cemetery. George Howard Barnhouse was born September 2, 1912, at the ranch home of his parents 27 miles southwest of Akron and came to his untimely death at the same place on June 28, 1925 at the age of 12 years, 9 months and 29 days. He was a member of the Olinger Highlander organization of Denver. Howard was an unusually intelligent and ambitious lad, having graduated from the eight grade in May last spring. He was to enter high school almost on his 13th birthday. He leaves a father and mother, two brothers and a sister, Thelma Ruth, age 15 years, Robert, age 10 years and Omar Eugene,. age 1 year. A sister, Dora Marie, preceded him in 1900 at the age of three months. The funeral services were held from the Methodist Church with Rev. Coulter in charge and the burial took place in the Akron Cemetery." |

Neldon Watson, minister of the Church of Christ, will officiate and interment will be in the Clintonville Cemetery. He was born February 14, 1944 at Brush, Colorado the son of Robert and Maxine Barnhouse. He was a high school graduate and made his home at Walker, Missouri. For the past several weeks he had been employed in Nevada by Ages Refrigeration and Sales Company. He worked the grave yard shift at Papettis Sanitation Company near Bedford, Iowa. They handled egg products, egg muffins, omelets and cream cheese for Starbucks, Swanson, Burger King, Hellman's Mayonnaise, NY School System and Jimmy Dean. I saw him the last time in 2010 while in Clinton, Missouri where my nephew Darrel Lee lives. Danny and I have been texting one another over many years. When he was born December 18, 1960, Mama had to prove he was hers when we moved to Montana. I loved him so much, I held him every chance I could.
