  1. 2.  Thomas Newberry was christened on 10 Nov 1594 in Yarcombe, Devonshire, England; died about Jan 1635/6 in Windsor, Connecticut Colony.

    Notes:

    From the Great Migration: On 31 Mar 1634 Thomas Newbery appears on the passenger list of the Recovery preparing to sail for New England from Weymouth, Dorset, England. His first residence was Dorchester. His occupation was merchant of cloth and other dry goods. He became a freeman 3 Sep 1634 (first in a sequence of three Dorchester men).
    Over the years, Thomas Newberry built up a sizeable estate in Dorchester. On 1 Sep 1634 he bought a 30-acre plantation and the house thereon from William Pincheon. On 4 Mar 1634/5 he obtain 100 acres of meadow ground on the north side of the Naponset River. On 2 Nov 1635 he obtained another 100 acres of meadow with an additional 100 acres of upland ground.
    It is unclear when Thomas and family migrated to Connecticut Colony but by the time of his death about January 1635/6 he was well established in Windsor. An inventory of his estate set his net worth as

    After Thomas Newberry's death, Jane Dabinott was remarried to Rev John Warham, pastor of the Windsor Church. Rev John and "Jane his wife, executrix of the last will and testament of Thomas Newberry, gent, deceased, leased to Richard Wright of Mount Wollaston, husbandman, the farm which the said Thomas Newberry purchased of William Pyncheon". - The Great Migration
