  1. 2.  Julius Augustus Owen was born on 23 Apr 1769 in Salisbury, Litchfield Co, Connecticut Colony (son of Elijah Owen and Olive Beeman); died about 1849 in Harvard, McHenry Co, Illinois.

    Notes:

    As a child he moved with his parents to Milton, VT. His first marriage in about 1799 was to Mehitable Castle of Milton by whom he had seven children; His second wife was Rebecca Murray whom he married 30 Oct 1811 at Fairfax, VT. (She was the widow of Zadock Clark). He had three children by Rebecca the second of which was Ambrose Owen (and the ninth child overall). Julius Owen is mentioned in the 1810 census of Milton, Chittenden Co, Vermont. He would have been 41 in that year.

    Julius married Mehitable Castle about 1799 in Milton, Litchfield Co, Connecticut. Mehitable and died. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    In 1771 Elijah removed to Poulltney, Rutland Co, Repuiblic of Vermont. He was living there in 1786 for a land conveyance names him as a resident.

    On 27 Feb 1734/5 his Father, Joseph Owen, gave him land in Lebanon, which he sold 12 March 1750. On 20 May 1751 Timothy Burbank of Salisbury sold and conveyed to Joshua Owen of Lebanon land in Salisbury. Joshua moved to Salisbury about 1752. On 2 May 1753 Joshua Owen of Salisbury bought land there from Amos Chimpan. These two pieces of land in Salisbury he conveyed to his son Leonard Owen on 18 October 1755.

    Joshua married Margaret Woodworth on 5 Nov 1718 in Lebanon, New London Co, Connecticut. Margaret (daughter of Benjamin Woodworth and Living) was born about 1694 in Lebanon, Connecticut Colony; died about 1755 in Lebanon, Connecticut Colony. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
