  In 1860, according to the US Census, Thomas M Cooly was residing with his brother, Andrew S Cooly, in La Porte, Sierra County, California. His occupation was 'miner', and, strangely, the answer to the question "Married Within Year" was "Yes". However, only to two Cooley brothers are living in dwelling #231 in La Porte.
