      The surname Bagg is traced back to the Bagge families of Norfolkshire and Plymouth in England who can trace their heritage back to Robert Le Bagge of Caen in Normandy who came with William the Conqueror. The earliest of the name in New England is John Bagg who was married 24 Dec 1657 to Hannah Burt of Springfield, Massachusetts Bay Colony.

      There are numerous sources on Ancestry.com that name a John Bagg. Unfortunately, none of these link John Bagg-England to John Bagg-Springfield.
